Zo Vhat iz zis VZFA?
One-day, the Vegas Science Fiction Association (VSFA - pronounced "vis fah") was created.
It's purpose was to put on a general Science Fiction Con in Las Vegas.
But like all things do, VSFA grew.
So a forum for local fandom to exchange ideas and opinions on any topic under and beyond the Sun was created.
Today, that seems like it was long, long ago and far, far away.
Now it could be said that VSFA wants the universe as its playground!
Not enough? Here's more!
We're a universal fandom organization.
We embrace all genres of science fiction and fantasy.
We support the Reading For the Future project.
We provide a venue for current, and future, Las Vegas science fiction and fantasy fans
and various ways for all types of SF/F fans to exchange ideas.
Local fans get to go to Dinner & a Movie, Sunday Socials, and
other local events/gatherings, while non-local fans can easily
participate via our newsletter VSFA Valley Voyager (V3) and our
website, www.vsfa.net.
Our goals for long term growth include fundraising, one day events and conventions, but above all else, our goal is to HAVE FUN!
Note: We have decided to forgoe nonprofit status until we are ready to run a convention. However nothing
we do is for profit anyway, all active members volunteer their time (and occasionally money) for the good of the group.
